It is Teacher Appreciation Week, Do Something Special
Colleagues and Friends of Education, This is Teacher Appreciation Week– for me I like to call it Educator Appreciation Week. It is a tribute to those who have made a difference in a person’s life. Over the years I have worked with students at the undergraduate and graduate levels. I have worked with Professionally Certified Educators in workshops and staff development programs. A question I have frequently asked these groups, “think of someone, other than a family member or loved one, who has make an impact in your life”. Consistently 60-75 percent of the group will think of an educator. This simple exercise is proof to me that ” EDUCATORS are #1″.
I would like to extend my appreciation to: Mr. Schweinberg, Mr. Anderson, Mrs. North, Mr. Hill, Mr. Bakewell, Mrs. Wiley, Miss. Campbell, Mr. Timm, Dr. Ball, Mr. Watson, and Mr. Kost. Unfortunately, I did not take the time or make the effort to say something before they pasted to a better place.
Please take a few minutes and write a note, email, or call and tell that educator, who has made an impact on your life, what they have meant to you. Don’t make the same mistake I have made.
Yes, “EDUCATORS are #1” To all of my colleagues have a great week and take pride in what you do.
